How to Remove Stretch Marks
When a person gains weight or grow very rapidly, like during pregnancy, puberty, or body-building, they may get stretch marks. Like all of the other parts of the body, the skin has a limit, which when breached causes the connective fibers to break that then generates lines all over the affected skin area. If you are one of an innumerable number of people who suffer from this skin blemish, then I very highly doubt if you haven’t questioned yourself how to remove stretch marks in your body at one point of your life.
Studies have shown that having stretch marks is one of the top 5 reasons for anxiety, stress, and embarrassment, especially among women. So knowing how to remove stretch marks is one of the proprieties among many people, women and men alike.
But first, what do stretch marks look like? For those of you who don’t know yet, stretch marks usually start out looking like pink or reddish lines on your skin and in time, most of them fade. These stretch marks can be reduced in appearance, through stretch marks cream, lotions, or oils that the outer layer of the skin, and reducing their appearance, helping them to fade out quicker. Older marks turn whitish or several shades lighter than your natural skin color. These stretch marks cannot be removed naturally since creams, lotions, and oils cannot penetrate that far into the skin. There are two options for people who have these kinds of marks: laser or surgical treatments. Laser treatments are effective, but are not permanent or complete. Surgical treatment is the only option that can completely and permanently remove stretch marks from your skin. But before you go for any kind of treatment, I would strongly suggest that you go see a dermatologist or doctor for a look-over so that they may weigh the best option for you.
So getting onto the point of how to remove stretch marks, well, as I’ve made clear in the previous paragraph, it depends on how ancient or recent your stretch marks are. The appearance of new stretch marks can be greatly reduced by using creams with active ingredients like Vitamin E, glycolic acid, retinoids, and relastin. They make the skin look and feel better, softer, and suppler, though they do not eliminate stretch marks completely. Creams such as Revitol, Trilastin-SR, and Zenmed Stretta are just three of the most well loved stretch marks cream removal products today, and based on their rave customer reviews, they are pretty efficient, although they do cost a pretty penny. But, you must consult a doctor first before using any product because some of them cannot be applied during pregnancy or when breast-feeding.
If you have the older stretch marks, using creams of lotions just won’t cut it. Your first and cheaper option (compared to the first anyway, it can still get pretty expensive) is laser treatment. It is a highly efficient treatment for dark marks that have not faded over time. But, one session of treatments is not enough; you have to be prepared physically and financially for multiple sessions. Usually, two to six sessions are required before the treatment is completed. There is also an array of different laser treatments available such as vascular lasers, pulsed-eye laser, fractional photothermolysis, and excimer laser. Microdermabrasion, is quick becoming a well loved option changing the appearance of stretch marks. Again, consult a dermatologist or doctor so that you can know which laser treatment is the best for you. This kind of treatment is expensive, so it is not for those who have a tight budget. They should only be executed by qualified doctors so that you will not come into harm.
The last option for those suffering under ancient and very developed stretch marks is surgical treatment, known as the tummy tuck. Now, this is the only treatment which assures complete and permanent removal of stretch marks since it involves tightening the stomach muscles themselves and then removing the excess skin which contains the stretch marks. But be warned, this does not come cheap.
Stretch marks can affect anyone, no matter the circumstances. Learning to come into terms with them and then finding out the best way on how to remove stretch marks are two of the things that you should do before even considering to go with one treatment.
