stretch marks are unavoidable. its hormonal also genetics have something to do with it, What i am doing is mixing almond oil grapeseed oil and 7 oz of shea butter mixed together into a runny milky consistancy. I use it at night because it so greasy. it costs about 20 bucks a month just for that i also use lavender sugar sugar scrubs from bbw. Staying moist is better then nothing and drinking water may help the skin from tearing up worse then if you did not do anything at all.

lmao you made youself sound like a dumbass… preventing stretch marks has nothing to do with the baby and would not harm the baby in any way… your just applying cream to your skin… its basically like puttin on lotion.. is lotion perilous for the baby to now?? geeze!

Stretch marks in inevitable. They are more prominent if you are light-skinned. The only way to avoid them is if you have extra skin (not literally extra). Applying lotion doesn’t remove or reduce them, it only helps with itching as your skin is stretched. Stretch marks are just the lines where you skin has torn. If you want to know if you’re going to have them, look at your mom. If she has them, you will, too.

Wow, sounds to me like you have stretch marks and you’re extremely bitter about it.
BTW, She says “HELP prevent stretch marks”. I didn’t hear the word “guarantee” anywhere in that clip. Some women are just prone to get them, but it doesn’t hurt to try and “prevent” them. Jackass.

nothing prevents them. if you’re going to have them you’ll get them. I’m 37 weeks now and have been applying cream even before I got pregnant. Both Bio-Oil and Palmer’s Cocoa Butter which are supposed to be the best. I already had a few under my bust before 35 weeks but was devastated to learn after 36 weeks my first ones on my belly! I eat well and have place on the right pregnancy amount. So ignore this woman please.

I don’t agree that stretch marks are hereditary. My mom and sister both got them terribly with their pregnancies. I chose I was going to do everything possible to keep them from appearing! I did some research and found that ingredients like petroleum and mineral oil will not absorbs into your skin (sorry but Palmer’s is full of this stuff) and therefore any cocoa butter will also not be absorbed.
I searched everywhere for a natural stretch mark cream and a mom in one of my pregnancy classes recommended TUMMY BUTTER by spoiled mama. It is hard to get- I mean you can only find it online unless you live in California. I bought a small jar because I wanted to see if it worked (and it is a lil expensive $27- but really WORTH IT!). I have been using this since early on and swear by it. I also bought some for Christmas to help fade my sis stretch marks and so far so excellent. My OB even said that it was safe during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
I also make sure that I drink plenty of H2O and take Omega 3′s daily to hydrate my body from the inside. My OB also mentioned that hot showers can be very drying so stay away and not to place soap on your tummy unless visibly dirty since many soaps containing drying ingredients. Excellent luck!!!
